Dr. Sayyad Shafiyoddin Badruddin
Dr. Sayyad Shafiyoddin is Associate Professor Physics and Head Department of Computer and Management Science in Milliya Arts, Science and Management Science College, Beed (Maharashtra) affiliated to Dr. Badbasaheb Ambedlkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Dr. Badbasaheb Ambedlkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad in 2008. He has Completed Master of Science in Physics. He has had more than 25 years of teaching experience.
His area of research is in Microwave and Imaging Spectroscopy (Remote Sensing), Liquid Dielectrics, Image Processing, Nanoelectronics, Condensed Matter Physics, Embedded System. He supervised 6 Ph.D. students in the subject of Physics, Electronics and Computer Science Engineering. He establishes Microwave and Imaging Spectroscopy Research Laboratory at Milliya College, Beed with state-of-the-art facility.
He has published 100+ research papers and 6 book chapters in national and International Journal of repute. He has presented 40 research papers in national and International conferences/ workshops/ symposia. He has attended 100+ National and International conferences. He has been invited as session chair/ keynote speaker at National and International Conferences/ Workshops. Recently he is working as an Ad-hoc Body Member of URSI GASS 2020 UTC Draft Resolutions, Recommendations and Opinions under the Chair URSI Commission A (2020). He is a Fellow of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (IETE) (India) and Indian Academic Researchers Association (FIARA). He is a Senior member of IEEE since 2019. He is a secretary of IEEE-GRSS Bombay Chapter for the session of 2021-2022. He is a life member of various academic and scientific bodies like URSI, IAPT, IPA, ISCA, ISRS, ISPRS, InRaSS.
He has Principal Investigator of two projects funded by ISRO. First one is based on HySI payload of Chandrayaan-1 entitled “Modeling and Simulation of Hyperspectral Imager (HySI) Sensor Chandrayaan-1 Image for Lunar Mineral Mixing Analysis”, (2016-2019). Second one is based on NISAR Satellite (ISRO-NASA Joint Venture, launch expected 2022), entitled “Modelling and Assimilation of NISAR, L & S Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar Images for Geophysical Parameter Retrieval), (2017-2021). He is a Science team working group member of ISRO Chandrayan-2 and ISRO-NASA Joint Earth Observation Satellite NISAR.
